I came to JinFeng pork and rice<\/a> a while back and didn’t review it, but not because it isn’t worthy of a review, I just haven’t been back for aaaaaaaaages. Well, here we go, JinFeng pork and rice is just as good as the picture suggests it’s going to be.<\/div>\n

Just like pretty much any really decent Taiwanese place<\/a>, it gets silly busy on a weekend. However, this was on a Thursday at 12:00… I waited around 5 mins in the \u5185\u7528\u5340 n\u00e8i y\u00f2ng q\u016b\u00a0 (eat-in area), or you could choose to take out by lining up under the sign that says – \u00a0\u5916\u5e36\u5340 w\u00e0i d\u00e0i q\u016b (take out area).<\/div>\n

This area at JinFeng pork and rice makes me smile with glee, makes my belly rumble, and also makes me fear for my arteries all in one simultaneous second.<\/div>\n

They’re definitely not winning any awards for cleanliness based on this picture at JinFeng pork and rice. However, they are aware that people are lining up outside and swooping in before you’ve barely swallowed your last mouthful to clean up and keep things moving.<\/div>\n

Ok, let’s take a look at the menu at JinFeng pork and rice. You can have: noodles \u9eb5 or \u7c73\u7c89 or \u51ac\u7c89 (normal noodles, rice noodles, or thick bean noodles), rice \u98ef, soup \u6e6f, tofu \u8c46\u8150, vegetables\u71d9\u9752\u83dc or \u7b4d\u4e7e (braised vegetables or bamboo) or even chicken done in various ways – \u4eba\u8518\u96de Ginseng chicken\uff0c\u86e4\u870a\u96de Chicken with clams\uff0c\u9cf3\u68a8\u82e6\u74dc\u96de Pineapple and bitter melon chicken<\/div>\n

Bottom line<\/b> – spoilt for choice!<\/div>\n

Deliciously silky fat cuts through delicate pork and a thick gravy layered on top of this bowl of lovely rice. I used to think rice was just rice, but it definitely isn’t. If you go to one of the many ‘buffet’ places dotted around your neighborhood, you’ll know that familiar soft and tasteless rice.\n

Here, expect nicely cooked rice, steaming hot and clean – delicious.<\/p>\n

I am a huge fan of fatty pork, but I haven’t seen this depth of colour before on a piece of belly pork. It falls apart when you touch it and the fat just melts in your mouth the way you want it to. There’s a slightly aromatic flavour mixed in with a light Chinese spice flavour. It ticks all the boxes, for my liking!\n
