Originally from HK, this highly acclaimed dessert shop has branched out to Taiwan, bringing sesame soup, walnut soup, and taro lotus seed soup. There&#8217;s something in Taipei for everyone!<\/p>\n\n\n\n<figure class=\"wp-block-image\"><img data-recalc-dims=\"1\" decoding=\"async\" src=\"https:\/\/i0.wp.com\/eatingintaipei.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2022\/10\/1555206818575.jpg?ssl=1\" alt=\"\" class=\"wp-image-11121\"><figcaption class=\"wp-element-caption\">The menu at Kai Kai Desserts isn&#8217;t that big, really. Due to the season, all desserts are hot (got me craving cold sesame soup).<\/figcaption><\/figure>\n\n\n\n<figure class=\"wp-block-image\"><img data-recalc-dims=\"1\" decoding=\"async\" src=\"https:\/\/i0.wp.com\/eatingintaipei.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2022\/10\/1555206818612.jpg?ssl=1\" alt=\"\" class=\"wp-image-11122\"><figcaption class=\"wp-element-caption\">I think it resembles a hospital canteen, but there you go&#8230;<\/figcaption><\/figure>\n\n\n\n<h3 class=\"wp-block-heading has-text-align-center\">Kai Kai Desserts menu<\/h3>\n\n\n\n<figure class=\"wp-block-image\"><img data-recalc-dims=\"1\" decoding=\"async\" src=\"https:\/\/i0.wp.com\/eatingintaipei.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2022\/10\/1555206818525.jpg?ssl=1\" alt=\"\" class=\"wp-image-11123\"><\/figure>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"has-text-align-center\">I&#8217;d have gladly had a bit of everything, but I will be honest &#8211; it isn&#8217;t particularly inexpensive here. So, we resided to have a bowl each, and come back in summer for something cold.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<figure class=\"wp-block-image\"><img data-recalc-dims=\"1\" decoding=\"async\" src=\"https:\/\/i0.wp.com\/eatingintaipei.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2022\/10\/1555206818972.jpg?ssl=1\" alt=\"\" class=\"wp-image-11124\"><\/figure>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"has-text-align-center\">Our first bowl coming to fruition &#8211; the half and half.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"has-text-align-center\">So, it seems that you can have half a bowl of one option, and the other half can be a different option at Kai Kai Desserts. I was sceptical, as really they will just merge into one another, right?<\/p>\n\n\n\n<figure class=\"wp-block-image\"><img data-recalc-dims=\"1\" decoding=\"async\" src=\"https:\/\/i0.wp.com\/eatingintaipei.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2022\/10\/1555206819051.jpg?ssl=1\" alt=\"\" class=\"wp-image-11125\"><\/figure>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"has-text-align-center\">Seems it did. And, to be honest, it doesn&#8217;t look appetising. But that&#8217;s nothing that a bit of mind over matter can&#8217;t sort out. <\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"has-text-align-center\"><strong>\u828b\u982d\u897f\u7c73\u9732 taro with sago \u8ddf \u84ee\u5b50\u7d05\u8c46\u6c99 lotus seed with red bean $100<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"has-text-align-center\">Both tasted great, by themselves, but I wouldn&#8217;t recommend getting the 1\/2 and 1\/2 that we did. Be prepared &#8211; it is a big bowl! <\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"has-text-align-center\">The red bean and lotus seed one had a nice earthy sweetness to it, and the taro with sago had a nice texture and sweetness to it.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<figure class=\"wp-block-image\"><img data-recalc-dims=\"1\" decoding=\"async\" src=\"https:\/\/i0.wp.com\/eatingintaipei.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2022\/10\/1555206819091.jpg?ssl=1\" alt=\"\" class=\"wp-image-11126\"><\/figure>\n\n\n\n<figure class=\"wp-block-image\"><img data-recalc-dims=\"1\" decoding=\"async\" src=\"https:\/\/i0.wp.com\/eatingintaipei.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2022\/10\/1555206819347.jpg?ssl=1\" alt=\"\" class=\"wp-image-11127\"><figcaption class=\"wp-element-caption\"><strong>\u829d\u9ebb\u7cca $100<\/strong><\/figcaption><\/figure>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"has-text-align-center\">This is what I came for. Tar. Treacle. Marmite. Whatever it reminds you of, let it all out. But, really, this was delicious. It was mildly sweet, it was fragrantly sesame flavoured, it was earthy, it was nutty, it was grainy and also smooth at the same time. I&#8217;ll be back again for this, that&#8217;s for sure.
